FACILITIES MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (FMCS)

FMCS for Wafer Fabrication.

:: What is Wafer Fabrication? ::

Integrated Circuits or ICs as depicted below, are built using the transistor as their basic building block. Transistors are similar to switches, with an “On” and “Off” position. The chips available today comprises of a large number of transistors that are compressed within a minute space. These transistors are turned on and off at very high speeds, enabling the chip to perform its particular function. The manufacturing of chips starts with a silicon wafer, a thin disc of pure silicon. On the surface of the wafer, chips are created by first fabricating the individual transistors.

Overview of the FMCS Industry

Process industries such as the semiconductor, chemical and pharmaceutical industries use different utilities in their plants to support the manufacturing process and to maintain the optimal environment required in each industrial process. Due to the complexity of these plants, it is necessary to have predefined monitoring and control functions to achieve a high quality output for these kinds of products.
